Why should you trust an outsider?
Why should you trust an outsider?
"Assume the reader knows nothing. But don't assume the reader is stupid."
That's what Ann Handley says about the importance of understanding your audience in Everybody Writes.
As a writer, I like that sentiment. As a marketer, I think I'd put it like this:
People aren't simple. But people desire simplicity.
For busy business leaders who have their hands in everything, stepping back and finding a simple way to tell people what they do is really hard.
I've seen businesses lose out on new opportunities because they fail to communicate their value to their customers simply and clearly.
I want to make sure that doesn't happen to you.
From leading marketing and communications efforts at a scrappy fast-growing startup to running media relations for a large safety net hospital system, I know how challenging it can be to capture an audience's attention.
If you're struggling to tell your story in a way that resonates and could use an outsider's perspective, I'd love to connect.
